Updates on the effortless practice

from Aug 28th, 2022 (oops forgot to hit publish, probably cuz it's unfinished - unedited)

Okay, so it’s the end of week one? Two? Since I’ve started my effortless system implementation and it’s helped me start building some habits. I think I need to streamline certain things a bit more and not keep track of the things that have become habitual. On my work journal I’ve been writing the following at the top of my to-dos:

BJLT - breakfast, journal, list, tidy

RWCP - read, write, calligraphy, post

GO - gratitude, organize

I think I can subtract the BJLT and perhaps combine the O with the T except that in my mind, the T is on desk irl tidying while the O is more like online organizing e.g. slowly clearing out the inbox of junk mail, finally reading and closing tabs, etc.

The RWCPG is what I think needs more attention. I’ve been pretty good with the reading, skipped a few days with the writing, but have been trying, so that’s much better than before. The calligraphy and post is a bit tricky. I think I might need to drop my ideas of that or simplify them more, so that it’s simply practice and writing a post card and all of the prep work to get those ready will need to happen some other time. For the gratitude aspect, I think it’s been on my mind and I’m thinking about hunting for a good gratitude journal, but still trying to figure out how I want to incorporate these things.

On the home front, I still haven’t really gotten into a flow, but maybe now that I’ve finished watching the latest series I’ve been binging (Never Have I Ever), I can start working on the at home time learning like figuring out the guitar, finishing up the kintsugi, and carry on with the slowly, but surely tidying of my apartment that has been years in the making.

This is coinciding with my spending ban project which is helping me get back on track financially, but I’ve had a few slip ups here and there e.g. book buying. It looks like I’m still going a little easy on myself when it comes to things like this.

It’s clear though, that there’s been an improvement compared to before. ^-^

Because of this, I’ve also been slowly clearing out my fridge (I have wayyy too many condiments) and working on my sourdough baking skills with my starter from Tanja <3

I think I can be a little too experimental sometimes, but I’m learning, so it’s okay.

So here’s a quick list recap of some of what I feel I’ve made progress on the past week or so minus the things mentioned above:

  • Looked into CD investing with high interest return rates and dreaming of what’s possible with that
  • Started reaching out to relationships I’ve neglected
